Makeni Islamic School under the stewardship of Makeni Islamic Society Trust was established in 1978. It has since grown to a renowned primary school competing at a national level with other schools in zambia. The school offers the Zambian Education System which is the ECZ Curriculum. Makeni Islamic is a Co-education School and has a current enrollment of 531 learners of which are 243 Boys and 388 Girls. 96% of the enrolment is under Zakaat Bursary sponsorship aimed at empowering the less privileged with education that will lead to a productive society.
